Despite massive political, social and regulatory changes over the years, the Garrun Group has remained at the forefront of the insurance intermediary market, and has grown in both size and scope over the past 55 years. Clients benefit enormously from a national support system with a holistic infrastructure of technical knowledge and expertise, state-of-the-art IT and a fully comprehensive suite of products.

Garrun Group Financial Service Providers have binding authorities in underwriting and claims settlement. Very conscious of our legal obligations under our governing legislation (FAIS Act) all our companies have high levels of compliance functionality. The Groups companies are active members of Industry bodies such as the Financial Intermediaries Association for Southern Africa (FIA). Our Account Executives and support staff are not only experienced and qualified but are continuously kept up to date with new market trends and developments, and as such are able to offer our clients the most up to date information.

03.Heritage

When Manny Garrun became one of the first Liberty Life agents in the early 60's, little did he realise that he was laying the foundations for a business that would later become one of South Africa's largest independent insurance brokerage groups. The success of the Garrun Group can be attributed to the vision and values laid down by Manny himself all those years ago.

Although Manny initially focused on general life products, he later expanded and developed an extensive short-term portfolio. Towards the end of the 70's and early 80's, his children followed in his footsteps and thus Manny Garrun & Sons was born.

The company grew from strength to strength. In 1994, The Garrun Group was formed and embarked on an acquisitions-orientated growth strategy, which led to majority shareholdings in several regional and specialist brokerages.

A Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) partner was brought on board in November 2003. While organic and acquisitions-generated growth remains central to the realisation of our commercial objectives, we don't aspire to the trappings of larger corporations.

Building relationships with our clients has always been key to our service offering, which explains why many of these relationships stretch back 20, even 30 years. Today, just as before, we remain intent on maintaining the personal touch and quality service that has characterised our company ethos right from the very beginning.

Manny's commitment to service excellence, personal relationships and one-on-one interaction, combined with an overarching sense of integrity and fairness, remain intrinsic features of our approach and have enabled us to realise the National Strength, Local Signature proposition, which is key to our offering across the stakeholder spectrum.
