Garrun Trips Charity Bowls Day

The Garrun Trips charity bowls day was hosted on the 7th of May 2019, at the Killarney Country Club in Johannesburg.

Thanks to the hard working committee members, Shiela and Hazel, the event was yet again a huge success with 126 ladies taking part in this year’s event.

At the end of the day, the scores were added up to determine the winner and each participant went home with a prize, but more importantly all proceeds raised are shared between three beneficiaries, CHOC, Hatzolah Medical Rescue and Hospice.

The Garrun Group would like to thank everyone involved in this event; from the organisers, sponsors and players, this would not be possible without your generous contributions.

Owl Rescue Centre Plastic Recycling Project

Gabi in our underwriting department came across the Owl Rescue Centre Plastic Recycling Project in June and suggested that the Johannesburg branch supported this worthy cause. We thought it was a GREAT idea especially with this year’s Environment Day Theme “Beat Plastic Pollution” together with one of our Brand Values – Making A Difference.

We are proud to share with you that our first full bag has been collected already.

This bag filled with plastic bottles & containers makes one Recycled Plastic Owl House.

Garrun Trips Charity Bowls Day

On the 3rd of May, the Killarney Country Club in Johannesburg was filled with excitement as 150 ladies congregated from various bowls clubs around Gauteng to compete in the annual Garrun Trips charity bowls day tournament.

Thanks to Shiela Shear who has run this competition since the start and her hardworking committee, every player that attended received a prize.
More importantly, proceeds raised are donated to Hospice, Hatzolah and Choc each year.

The Garrun Group thanks everyone involved; this would not be possible without your generous contributions.

Grey Boys High - 2015

The Garrun Group recently sponsored the Boarder boys rugby and hockey jerseys for the annual Border vs Daypot derby at The Grey in Port Elizabeth this year.

The boarding house "Meriway" is celebrating it's 100 year. It comprises of approximately 150 boys from grade 8 through to grade 12.
David Cronje from Cronje Outeniqua Garrun attended the official jersey handout and was treated to a special evening by the boarders who sang their traditional boarder songs which showed the spirit and camaraderie of the Boarding House.

Much to everyones surprise the Hockey Boarders pulled off a surprise victory 3 -2 against the daypot's. The rugby boarders showed their metal once again and played some outstanding rugby in very difficult conditions notching up another victory 45 -5 against the daypot's. The rugby boarders are yet to lose this fixture.

It was truly a great honour and privilege to be associated with such a great and prestigious event.
