Maintenance and upkeep of buildings and other structures is a key element of Short-Term Insurance, especially when it comes to Sectional Title Buildings. Insurers generally require that buildings (Including fixtures and fittings) be reasonably well maintained, and housekeeping be kept in order. Losses arising due to lack of maintenance, gradual deterioration, damage over a longer period of time, damp, mould, mildew as well as wear and tear are not covered by the Body Corporate’s policy.
