To this end the Group chose to support black business by buying into an existing entity, Seabelo Investments. The word ‘Seabelo’ means ‘inheritance’ or ‘gifting’ in Tswana. It’s also a generic Nguni word that has similar interpretation.

The 50:50 joint venture was formalised in 2003, and since then Seabelo Garrun has successfully grown from a strong commercial platform that’s focused on sustainable growth, is process-driven, pragmatic and relationship-orientated.

Ongoing skills training and development are keys to success, and the firm commits the necessary resources to ensure that its people meet the necessary FAIS compliance criteria and are suitably equipped to provide the highest standards of advice and service. At the same time, the brokerage’s bursary/mentorship initiative ranks amongst their most valuable interventions in the area of talent recruitment and retention.

Seabelo Garrun is led by Managing Director Frederick (Freddy) Leketi. Soweto born and raised, Leketi holds a BA in Economics from Vista University and his financial services career spans many years, including senior positions at Standard Corporate & Merchant Bank, Investec and Liberty. Besides his executive role, Freddy is a shareholder in Seabelo Investments which owns 50% of Seabelo Garrun.
