Durban-based Hamish Thorpe Insurance (HTI) was established in 1994 - the same year that South Africa gained its democracy. Through a series of strategic decisions, HTI grew rapidly and in August 2006 the firm became a fully-fledged partner of the Garrun Group, cementing a friendship that spans many years.

Founding member Hamish Thorpe is an accomplished and experienced broker, widely regarded as a key player in the local insurance industry. Hamish is ably supported by his business partner, John Bennet and with over 50 years of experience between them, expert advice is yet another reason why many clients have remained loyal to HTI since its inception.

The company is a member of the Insurance Institute of Kwa-Zulu Natal and is actively involved with the Association of Women in Insurance.
