Supporting Black Business
The Garrun Group was among the first in the industry to embrace the principles of transformation by investing in Black Economic Empowerment (BEE). Determined to start as we meant to continue, we put our money where our mouth is, and consciously chose to support Black business by buying into an existing entity, Seabelo Investments. (The word 'Seabelo' means 'inheritance' or 'gifting' in Tswana. It’s also a generic Nguni word that has similar interpretation.)
Since the deal was completed in November 2003, our 50:50 joint venture - reflected in the Seabelo Garrun name - has been built on a strong commercial platform that’s focused on sustainable growth, is process-driven, pragmatic and relationship-orientated.
Our vision is to become the Continent’s number one empowered insurance company. Seabelo Garrun has already established a significant presence in the short-term space and is well positioned to continue this success, particularly at corporate level.
